For the second year, the club hosted a shoot as part of the Archery Interchange Ironman challenge on December the 27th.  Our bunch of nutters ( I mean archers) enjoyed 7 dozen arrows at 30m in competition with over 200 others shooting at the same time in other venues around the country.

Portsmouth Progress Awards

Portsmouth badges are Back!

During the Outdoor Season we have 252 badges, but indoors we have Portsmouth Badge awards. These are personal achievement badges. As archers achieve higher scores at this round, they can claim a badge for each step they take. These start at a score of 300 and increase in increments of 25 to the maximum score of 600.

They cost £2.50 each and can be traded in if this is wished at no extra cost.

In respect of the Portsmouth Badges ONLY ONE score need be submitted per badge application. Usual shooting rules apply – first shoot of the day, two lots of 3 sighter arrows, scoresheets properly recorded and witnessed. They can be claimed from tournaments, or at normal shooting sessions at the Indoor Unit.

For the brave amongst you, we also will be awarding Frostbite badges for the outdoor Winter Postal round.

Nik has a tracking sheet for the badge awards, and will endeavour to keep up with your scores, but please use the sheets in the unit to confirm when you’ve broken your personal best score and wish to claim your badge.

Brixham Archers Social – Charter Boat Fishing Trip – Saturday 25th July

Hey All,

We will be chartering a boat on 25 July to fish the Skerries off Plymouth.
The cost based on 10 People would be £40 per head + bait
Meet at Torquay marina 6:45 am Saturday, so those who have paid a deposit: You will need to bring £34.50 for the boat hire.

  • We have 9 People so cost per head £44.50 per head + bait
  • People confirmed: Tammy, Alex, Sophie, Rob, Reg, Alan M, Ray (Alan M’s Neighbour), Alan T, Reece.
  • 1 place left
  • We will need to use our own Tackle (rods/reels etc), although between the club members we have three or four spares
  • A non-refundable deposit (refundable if bad weather stops the trip) is required. the deposit is £10 per head.

Places will be on a first come first served basis upon receipt of deposit.
