8th April 2007: How's this for a first ever York round - Dan Tooze (15) achieved a score just 20 below a Gent's MB score! Well done to him!

12th April 2007: David Howard has achieved his 3rd class classification! Not a bad achievement in four sessions since returning outdoors! Considering the amount of time and effort it has taken to achieve this, it is no surprise one is happy :-D.

16th June 2007: Lots of club records changing hands and new ones created, including two by yours truly! Lets keep it up folks!

7th September 2007: The Club championships were held at the end of August, with fun had by all! The prize giving is on Saturday 29th September, at Brixham Cricket Club. Arrive 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

7th December 2007: A good day for Recurve archers, with Steve Squires, Andy Jackson and David Howard ALL shooting PBs on Portsmouth Rounds! Steve got an amazing score of 570, Andy shot 552, while David shot 501, his first score above 500! Well done to all, lets keep it up especially as now it is the indoor postal season

Archers of the West: FITA 18/H2H shoot: 2nd December 2007

David Jackson came 3rd for Gents Compound, having shot a PB score of 554 and shooting well in the Head to Heads

Andy Jackson shot a PB of 512 and reached the 1st round of the Head to Heads, but sadly his progress was halted by a problem with his string.

Well done to Both!

Kyrton Indoor Eagle Worcester 2007: 14th October 2007

Another superb day for Brixham, with Chris Bedford winning Gents compound, Gill Bedford winning the Ladies Compound, and Dan Tooze winning the under 18 Gents compound. Michael Bryan Harris won the Gents under 14 recurve. Well done to them! Andy Jackson won his first ever archery tournament medal, coming 3rd in Gents recurve, Huge congratulations to him!

DCAS County Championships 2007: 12th August 2007

Dan Tooze is the Gents Compound champion! Chris Bedford was 2nd, while Matt Knight and David Jackson shot well! Gill Bedford is the Ladies Compound champion, while Allison Bastow shot well.

The Juniors continued Brixham's champions performance, with Michael Bryan Harris (Bristol 4 Rec) and Francesca Knight (Bristol 3 Comp) taking the titles in their categories. Michael also took the Tavistock Trophy, while Francesca took the Rydon Trophy.

What a superb day for Brixham, a day to be proud of with some outstanding performances. Huge congratulations to all!

DCAS/Redruth FITA Star: 4th/5th August 2007

Dan Tooze came 3rd, while Matt Knight and David Jackson shot very well over both days. Well done to them!

Andover Shoot: 28th/29th July 2007

Gill Bedford achieved her 3rd GMB score (1331), while Chris Bedford (1292) achieved his 3rd MB score after injury. Well done to them!

Cleve Archers shoot: 21st/22nd July 2007

Our Compound archers came away with the Team trophy, with Gill Bedford, Dan Tooze and David Jackson collecting. Chris and Gill Bedford collected the Team trophy. Well done to all!

DCAS/Exmouth Double FITA 2007: 2nd/3rd June

Chris Bedford came 5th after a period of injury (3rd on the last day), while Andrew and David Jacskon put in good scores. Dan Tooze produced an excellent Metric I score, well done to all!

Bowmen of Tors 2007: 20th May

Bowmen of the Tors Open Shoot at Notre Dame School, Plymouth.

On a mild day with only a light breeze, Brixham Archers were represented by:

- Matt Knight placed 3rd shooting a York in the gents compound class.

- Daniel Tooze placed 1st shooting a Bristol I in boys compound.

- Michael Bryan-Harris placed 1st shooting a Bristol IV in boys recurve.

Michael's performance was particularly good in that he scored 7 six-gold ends, and did not miss! Well done.

Kyrton Open Western 2007: 13th May

It wasn't much fun at Crediton really, torrential rain dominating the day.

Nonetheless Matt Knight won the Gents compound class, but David Howard nearly had his mobile phone and hearing aids wrecked!

Redruth Double American 2007: 13th May

Like Credition, rain dominated the day. Dan Tooze was the star of the day, beating all of the gents! Also, on the second detail, nearly all of his arrows were in the gold! Well done!

DCAS Grand Day 2007: 6th May

It was a good day for Brixham, with Dan Tooze and Michael Bryan Harris both winning their respective classes. Once again, yours truly did not come last (42nd out of 43!)
We also received the Recurve indoor postal trophy, with Steve Nelson, Andy Jackson, David Howard, Robert Weeks, Derek Proctor and Michael Bryan Harris all receiving medals.
Well done to all!

Tavistock Field Shoot 2007

Paul, Amanda and Malcolm went to a field shoot at Tavistock last weekend, 1st April. 36 3D animal targets.
All shot in the compound unlimited class.
An excellent course with good weather.
Paul and Amanda shot very well. Amanda gold medal (Ladies Compound Unlimited). Paul Bronze medal (Gents Compound Unlimited).
Malcolm enjoyed the chips and bacon butty!

DCAS County Championships 2007: 25th February

DCAS County Championships - Gill Bedford won the Ladies Compound. Steve Nelson was top of the Recurves, coming 10th, and Dave Jackson shot well and came 7th. Yours truly came 34th out of 36 in Gents Recurve, not even last!!

Well done to all who took part in that!

National Indoor Championships 2007: 18th February

Gill Bedford came sixth at the National Indoor Championships at Lilleshall. Andy and David Jackson both shot well, with Andy gaining a PB! Well done to all!

Exmouth Indoor 2007: 21st January

Well done to David Jackson, he came third again, this time at Exmouth! Keep it up Dave!

Kyrton Indoor Tournament 2007: 14th January

David Jackson came 3rd in the Kyrton Indoor tournament in the Gents Compound class, while Gill Bedford won the Ladies Compound class. Well done to both!

Well done to Gill Bedford! She has risen to the very top of archery, GRAND MASTER BOWMAN, having started just 4 years ago, and is now 6th in the UK outdoor rankings. She has also made the England Team's 1st reserve for indoor compound, a truly impressive set of entries to Gill's archery CV!

Bray Week 20/02/2007 - 23/02/2007
 
On Tuesday 20th and Friday 23rd February we held a "Bray Week" as part of our Spring indoor handicap league, shooting a Double Bray round (each Bray I is 30 arrows on a 40cm target at 20 yards distance). This day several club records were broken, and new ones created.
Brother and Sister Adam and Yasmin Coyde set new junior club records for their respective classes. Amanda and Paul Allan both took the Double bray record with compound bows, while Steve Nelson took the Recurve Double Bray record. Steve Squires, meanwhile, raised the hurdle with the longbow. Well done to all!
