| 1: Stance | Tall, upright, balanced, straight spine but relaxed |
| 2: Preparation | Bow hand placement Nock arrow on string Bow elbow joint rotated down Drawing hand placed and relaxed Look squarely at target |
| 3: Drawing | "T" draw or "V" draw: Drawing elbow up Draw the string closely along bow arm |
| 4: Reference | Don't move head. Although some top archers do! Bring string to nose and chin Keep back of draw hand flat, no tension Draw Force in Line: bow hand-nock-draw elbow Don't stop drawing: continue back pressure |
| 5: Aiming | Eye, Sight, Arrow Relationship - upright plane Align string with centre of bow limbs Align sight aperture with string Align target, sight, nock and drawing elbow |
| 6: Loosing | Use the back muscles to align shoulder blades Relax the loosing fingers |
| 7: Follow Through | Continue with back muscle squeeze Draw hand past neck towards shoulder Keep bow arm up and towards target Relax, don't rush and prepare again |
