Field shooting safety

Hi,

Regarding the woods for field shooting:

There has sometimes been someone camping on the banks of the lake. He seems to come and go at odd times.

Our landlord for the woods is trying to catch the camper and tell him that he should not be there.

In the meantime – no-one new to our woods should go down until they have made arrangements with Bryan Lawler.

Those of you that go down the woods regularly – please check for the camp site area first every time you go to the woods and before you start to shoot.

If you actually see the camper – please ask for his name and his telephone number and ask him to see Malcolm Slack.

If the camp is there please don’t shoot at all – come away and let the landlord know right away. Also please let Bryan know.

Cheers

~Malcolm~

Winter League Finals

After an ultra-tense jaw dropping shoot out Mark O’Halloran emerged as the victor in the first hotly contended Brixham Archers Winter League. Will Wetherall came a very close second and John Read took the bronze medal after losing to Will on count backs with 10s (9&9) and then 9s (12&11). Chris was disappointed not to receive one of the nice medals particularly has he had bought them. Whilst Mark was happy to take away the glass trophy he himself had selected to suit his home décor.

The semi-final was keenly contested with scores recorded as follows

Mark O’Halloran              229

Paul Allan                            221

Chris Boulton                     219

Brian Le Badge                  216

Sharon Hill                          214

Kane Kennedy                   209

The finals followed with Jerry and Paul disappointingly pulling out due to ‘equipment failure!’

Mark O’Halloran              228

John Read                           223

Will Wetherall                    223

Chris Boulton                     215

Jerry Handyside                retired

Paul Allan                            retired

Sharon and Brian were pleased with their achievements in reaching the finals whilst Kane must surely be kicking himself having elected to shoot compound rather than longbow. After the finals in a display of extreme stamina Mark and Chris then went on to shoot a St George just for fun.
